Smith Lumber is nestled at the base of Juniata County’s scenic Shade Mountain.  Running a vintage Frick 01 sawmill, locally-sourced timber provides custom sawing, fine lumber, turning stock, carving blanks, natural edged slabs and more.  The Smith Family has been supplying wood products to generations of craftsmen, farmers, and builders.

We manufacture from locally-sourced sustainably-harvested timber

For the Turner

Custom-made green bowl blanks (available in many native species--such as chestnut, red and white oak, black gum, pine, hemlock, maple [including ambrosia], beech, birch and more), spindle stock, and more; osage orange (hedge apple), walnut, Eastern white pine, and more.

For the Carver

Thick Eastern white pine, white ash, walnut, paulownia, and more

For the Carpenter

Figured boards and table slabs; apple, black walnut, paulownia, and more. Reclaimed American chestnut, pine barn boards, and others.
